I have been put in touch with a Managing director from Caxton associates and I was wondering has anyone got any info on the firm? Has anyone worked/interned their?
Does it matter if he is not the head of a division in which I want to go into?

It is a very macro fund and is not that great. Honestly they lost money in last 6 out of 8 years. Only time they made money was in covid disruption when almost all macro funds were up quite a bit.
