- Non-target --> FT Off-Cycle IBD AnalystSo I have been around here for about a year and half now, and have to say thank you to the community. Really learned a lot and got my foot in door based on the advice on these forums. ### The Non-Target School Now for my story, I attended a large (20,000+ students) non-target school. We...
- Is investment banking full of rich kids?It seems that to get into investment banking, you must: - apply early - have been to a target school - in order to get into the target school, excel in high school, have money and you must know which schools are targets for investment banking It seems like that in order to tick off all...
- Thrown out halfway through interviewHey y'all, I am just wondering if this has like happened to anyone else before. I was interviewing at a F500 the other day, and halfway through my 6 mini interviews I was interrupted by the HR head telling me the interview was done and for me to exit the building. It was pretty...
- Becoming a PrincipalFor many of us who are still younger on this page, it is an intended goal to become a principal. As I think it would be very helpful, for those who are principals (on the younger side): * How did you get to where you are now? * What route did you take career-wise? * What obstacles did...
- Learning Curve as 2nd Year Analyst I am currently working as an investment banking analyst at a BB and 6 months after starting the job, I feel the learning curve flattens very quickly. I don't learn much from making another pitch book and even in the live deal, I feel the work I do isn't particularly exciting. Since...
- The Mechanics of a Mispricing There have been a few other related posts that I have commented on recently that touched on mispricings and catalysts. I wanted to take some time and write something up that brings it all together in one post. This is something that took me a while to understand and come around to when I was...
- AMA: Non-Target -> 3rd Year Analyst MM IBUnfortunately turning comments on a pitch deck today so I have some time in between turns to do an AMA. Thought I'd give back to the community here now that I'm wrapping up my 3rd year at a MM. Definitely wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for WSO. ###Quick background...

- How I messed up my career and then got it back on trackA little mini rant/story about how I messed up my career but have finally (I hope at least) gotten it back on track. I started off on a Big Four graduate scheme. Initially in audit but then moved over to the transactions side. Great learning experience, worked on big clients, but not exactly...

The first year comp should not be a factor. Centerview only makes sense if you want to be a career banker. The pay differential from moving from some other EB to top PE/HF for your third year will mean you end up making more in 3 years than you would at Centerview anyway.
elite boutiques are overrated as eff. pay range is from 30-80 at my firm and pay has nothing to do with iq (100% politics). bulge brackets paid really well this year and had initiatives to protect analysts but boutiques didn't do anything so even if you got top bucket at a boutique it wasn't worth it. if you have friends at a boutique talk to them - they will let you in the over-hyped secret of the "elite boutique"
You have no idea what you're talking about, especially as it relates to Centerview.
Wah wah wah; I suppose you would've been better off if they paid you based on all the deals yoy sourced instead, right?
I don't even really understand this post. Boutique's don't protect their employees??

I find it hard to believe that Centerview prevents people from going buyside. They may not be for it, but there's no way they don't sometimes support analysts. Anyone know anything about this?
Centerview Partners Salary (Originally Posted: 02/24/2012)
Does anyone know what Centerview Partners is paying their SA's? Would also be interested in hearing full time if anyone knows.
Only matters if you have an offer. If not, then don't even ask.
Can someone who's not an asshat reply?
If he had an offer he would have known what they pay so reply only if you can contribute something meaningful. I have a friend who has an offer from centerview for the summer, I believe they are giving him 80k base annualized and 3k housing stipend.
SSK
Thank you. Very helpful.
Centerview FT analysts get paid bank... Something along the lines of 180k all in first year for top bucket.
Centerview is pretty popular during OCR at my target for paying "above street".
