CIO/PM Partner Search for Hedge Fund

Partnership Description

The Opportunity: Partners A and B currently work together at a major quantitative, asset manager. In 2017 the Partners, based in Miami, will leave to form a systematic, trend-following hedge fund focused on an underserved, but well-capitalized, client niche. The aim of this job posting is to meet, and build a relationship with a future life-long business partner, who is specialized in Trading Strategy Programming/Development and Trade Execution.

The Audacious Goal: We’re fearless, good-humored, and a little intense. What drives us is a strong interest in working for ourselves, delivering value to our clients, and being builders of a platform. We intend to build a world-class hedge fund with offices around the world and proves time and time again that it is an amazing place to work.

What we’re looking for: A highly motivated, experienced, disciplined, and entrepreneurial individual with substantial algorithmic strategy development and trading experience from a top flight hedge fund. Masters from an Ivy League university, or equivalent, is requisite. Needs to have a genuine and focused interest in building and trading pure long-term trend-following programs. Must be personable, patient, and have the distinct ability to speak with sophisticated clientele and communicate complex concepts in simple, but honest terms. This is NOT a role for those who like to shut themselves off and work by themselves – we’re looking for a collaborative team player.

What you’ll get: Equal equity partnership; the opportunity to be Portfolio Manager and CIO; and most importantly, to work for yourself. We will secure operating capital that will permit a reasonable, and equal, salary to be drawn by all partners – from day one.

About us: We see Sales, Operations, and Trading as the three pillars of a world-class firm. Partner A has personally raised several hundred million dollars, over a few years, for quantitative funds, and has been a part of a team that has raised nearly $1 billion during his time there. He is personable, fearless, and a big picture thinker. Partner B leads an Operations team and holds investment and economics degrees from the world’s top universities. Specialized in the areas relevant to any Head of Operations, he’s diligent with a constant eye on the bottom line. The Partners’ complementary skillsets matter because, while you will be focused on the development and operations of the trading strategy, the other two partners will develop Sales, vendor relationships, secure day-to-day infrastructure, develop internal operations (across investor relations, marketing, consulting, legal/compliance, and so forth) and execute on the business plan.

Specific skills and experienced required:

• 10-12 years of trading and strategy development experience.

• Masters or higher from an Ivy League University, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, Math, or Physics.

• Ability to design, code, test, and troubleshoot a fully automated and complex trading system.

• Must have built multiple, automated, trading strategies from scratch (You will be asked to build basic models for reference).

• Managerial skills, as you will need to build out your team, are crucial.

• Seamless ability to trade a wide variety of instruments including: equities, currencies, mortgages, commodities, and interest rate swaps

• Highly skilled in Python, SQL, VBA, and general database manipulation and maintenance.

• Exceptional client facing skills are highly important. You will work closely with Partner A in this regard.

• Significant experience in working with fund platforms, data providers, Futures Commission Merchants, and Total Solution Counterparties.

• Notable experience in coordinating trade reconciliation.

• Conduct trade analysis and produce daily risk reports

• Sound knowledge of global financial markets and regulation.

• Willingness and interest in being a resource for collateral and sales material.

• Those with criminal records, a habit of drug-use, and a lack of ethics need not apply.

• Those with large egos or who are insecure or unsure of themselves need not apply.
