If you work for a BD, you are required to let your employer know about outside employment. If they view the employment as a conflict or it interferes with your job, they can disallow the employment.
I personally would not tell my job shit, unless it was somehow affiliated with my position / role
Not great advice. Just read your contract and rules at your employer. Not telling your employer, if it is against company policy, is a great way to get fired.
