Everyone should go to Mohan's Tailor

Well I just finished my shopping for my SA position. If anyone read my success story I networked with plenty of senior bankers at the BB and elite boutique banks. They all referred me to go to Mohan's to buy my suits and shirts.

This guy makes all the exotic suits Knicks fan see Walt Clyde Frazier wearing.

The office is really nice right across Grand Central Station. This place was amazing a relatively inexpensive and they treat you great. I bought 3 suits and 10 shirts for $2000. Quick turnaround, I got all my stuff within 3 weeks.

Don't go to the store buy a suit then pay for tailor. Just buy a custom tailored suit to begin with. This guy has so many different fabrics that I am sure he can make you that off the rack suit you really liked for a fraction of the cost. The quality is much better than the suits you see in the stores selling for $400-750. Put a brand name label on these and they can easily sell for $1k.

I highly recommend this place and so do many bankers.

If you go on their website they have a promotions page. It really depends on what quality fabric you want. If you want a good wool suit something it might cost like $400-600. Of course the have excellent suits that cost much more. They had a suit where the fabric had crushed diamonds in it lol.

The shirts are Buy 6 for $400 get two free.

I personally went this route because everything is custom fit for you which I think ultimately is what matters. If your suit and shirt fit you perfect they will look so much better than even an untailored $2k suit.

This saves you the hassle of buying off the rack then finding a good tailor paying him etc.. Only con with this is you have to wait like 2-4 weeks to get you things. They make adjustments to your clothes in the office so its perfect.

Anyone else have any experience with these guys?

They take care of you. Their shirts are awesome. The buy 6 get 2 free for $400 is an awesome deal. Also the suits are very good. I don't know about older people, but if you are a student or like a 1-2 year analyst he will give you a great deal.

He wants repeat customers and by hooking up students that are going into finance he knows down the line we will go back and buy some of his better stuff where he will make his money which is completely fair.

The problem with places like MySuitNY and Indochino are that you aren't buying bespoke. They love to use the word "custom" but it's barely that. They take pre-existing forms and alter them to your measurements, literally "made to measure" in the truest sense.

If you go to a place like Mohan's, you're getting fully bespoke tailoring done for you. If you're looking for shirts, not suits, try CEGO. You'll pay more, but it's the business. http://www.cego.com/index.php

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

Astor and Black, Indochino, Mohan's tailors, Blank Label, - they all sound good. We need someone to compile all this info, compare/contrast quality and pricing in one solid thread.

I would also like to hear more about these. A need a pair of pants brought in a lot through the legs - it will require them being taken apart and put back together. I was thinking Mohan's was the place to go - anyone have thoughts on that?
