EY TAS V&BM 2nd Interview
Hiya everyone. I have my 2nd (the in-person) interview with EY TAS Valuation & Business Modeling in the SF Bay area next week. I searched through the forums for previous 2nd interview experiences, but they were either 3 to 4 years ago or 1st interviews. I was wondering if anyone had any recent insights regarding the interview or what to expect. Anything would help! I really appreciate it.
I have my first round, phone interview with their valuation group in a different office next week. If you don't mind could you let me know how yours went, types of questions, and anything along those lines?
Hey wallstreetdream,
Prepare for the standard fit questions, i.e. tell me about yourself, why this company, what do we do, etc. They were curious about projects on my resume rather than asking technical questions, but YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary = it depends on the interviewer).
I tried posting a URL on the comment section, but an error keeps on popping up. Search for "Ernst & Young Transaction Advisory Services - Valuation" It's a previous forum post to help you with technical questions
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
Hi Sunghwan34,
I'm currently in the Valuations and Business Modeling group and was only recently hired. 2nd rounds for me consisted of 7 one-to-one interviews, where the first 2-3 were very technical (all standard ibanking technicals, and maybe a "Tell me how you would value a technology company", "tell me how you would value a company's goodwill", etc., while the remainder was more fit. Are you an experienced hire trying to lateral in, or applying for an entry-level position? Feel free to ask me more questions, I'd be happy to help.
I know this is for the full-time positions, but I am hoping I'd get more information about internship interviews. Do you have any insight on that? The on campus interview is coming up in two weeks. In your opinion, is buying WSO's package (investment banking, technical, and behavior) worth it? How did you prepare for these technical questions?
Hey DEAF,
I dont know exactly how EY intern interviews go but it should be similar to a new hire process. I suggest doing a refined search in Glassdoor and WSO for EY intern interviews. (Sorry, currently using s mobile phone to reply. Otherwise, I would do the search for you)
ADDITION: Search through the EY intern interviews that are relevant to your division. http://www.glassdoor.com/Interview/EY-Intern-Interview-Questions-EI_IE2…
They will ask fit questions and based upon your department they could ask technicals.
I cant say anything about the WSO package because I havent had the opportunity to personally use it. Read over the WSO package reviews and choose if its worth it for you. If youre applying to several places at once thats in ibanking realm and not broke, then whats the downside?
I studied for the CFA which helps with technical questions. Also, I searched through WSO (for technicals, see first comment) and anywhere else for possible questions that could come up in the interview.
Ill post again later tonight PST and try to give you the links. ADDITION: Added the URL link for glassdoor intern interviews.
Edited to provide link for glassdoor EY intern interviews.
I also have an technical (using a laptop) interview for EY's valuation and modelling position. Do you have an idea as to what I can expect.
A little background on me, passed CFA L1 and have a quant background. Thanks I would appreciate all the advice.
