From Semi-Target to Bulge Bracket? Kill it.
Please kill it. I'm trying for Asset Management/Equity Research/Wealth Management.
I'm at NYU College of Arts and Science at the moment. I came into the school as pre-med, but realized I didn't want to be 30 years of age before I made real money. Plus, I have way too many loans from undergrad to bounce right into medical school. Also, before you guys ask, I didn't transfer to Stern because it wasn't the right fit for me. I just wanted a broader education, and I like what I'm doing, so I'm not going to fix what's not broken.
I wouldn't mind boutique or middle market firms either. If I can break into the buy-side right out of undergrad, I would absolutely jump at that opportunity. Thanks WSO!

@Beretta and SirTradesaLot - I've been smoking cigars for the past 5 years, but I'll take it out. What about the content itself? Is it at all "impressive." Would an analyst/associate look at this resume and say to themselves "wow, we could give this kid a first round." I'm just scared that recruiting for SA's this summer is gonna be hell.

You should be able to get interviews. Unrelated note, when you get health insurance, they will ask if you have had anything tobacco related in the past ten years. If you answer yes, it will cost you thousands extra each year.
Sorry to keep quoting you, it just seems like you're a veteran on this board. Do you think it would hurt that I'm not in Stern? I've interned with kids from Stern, and it seems like I there isn't as large of a discrepancy between us as is portrayed. Also, what about interviews from AM/HF firms? My ultimate goal would be to break into the buyside through networking immediately after undergrad. Thanks for your help man, it would be a dream to break into BB/elite boutique.
Why were you looking at Manpower in the home and building materials industry?
Most of the work I did was in Industrials/home building and materials. I did do some stuff for other analysts as well, and felt like it was important to put on my resume. Is that necessarily a bad thing? What do you think about my overall resume? Could I land into a BB/boutique/buyside?

Since you're not in Stern you are not given as much opportunities. But then again, its still got the NYU name. Your GPA is great (considering your also a double major) and your most recent internship is relevant with what you are aiming for. So my bet is that you will be getting alot of first round interviews. Boutique and middle market and even BB.
Always help yourself by networking and building connections which will get your resume in front of the right people as you prepare for next year's summer internship. If you're mind is set on buyside than go for it, be focused and save yourself time from applying to firms you know you will be miserable and have no interest in.
