Goldman Sachs Global Liqudity Products
Can someone give me some color on this role? What does this group do? And how does it fit into the larger GS business? Thanks guys.
Global Liquidity Products
GLP is the firm's central market maker for funding and liquidity risk. There are two aspects to the business: trading, & product development / marketing. The trading business is focused specifically on pricing, sourcing, and hedging secured and unsecured funding across all GS businesses. The product development and marketing team structures new products that enable expanded sources of GS liquidity, thereby achieving a key Securities Division strategic priority while meeting client objectives.
I know this is a tough space but can someone give it a shot at explaining? Right or wrong, I wouldn't mind having some idea.
Thanks
Not sure but it sounds exactly how it reads. They maintain and develop relationship with other banks/institutions as far a liquidity, borrowings, funding aspects go. Secured and Unsecured borrowings, credit lines. Examining counterparty credit risk and credit worthiness- also exploring, marketing, and developing new funding products, etc.
