Help with Networking Calls

Whenever speaking with bankers, at the end of the call, I ask if they would be comfortable with connecting me to someone else on the team. Usually, their response is "sure, let me think about who is the best person I should connect you to". However, they never seen to get back to me about another banker I can speak with. What should I do in this situation? After a couple of days go by, should I email them asking again if they could connect me to someone else on the team?

Yeah. What I do is after 7-10 days I replied to the email chain that I initially reached out, and told them I enjoyed speaking w them, thank them for their time and advice. Then say I'd be super interested in learning more about the firm/group XYZ/etc, would you happen to know anyone that may be willing to hop on a quick call with me.

That usually does the trick for me. Best of luck!

Do you also mention that you would be interested in learning more about the group and ask if anyone is willing to hop on a quick call with me during your call with them or do you just send an email and not mention it during the call?

I would ask in the call and then follow up with them an hour later recapping what they said they'll do. Usually get connected with someone on their team within the next day. Take the initiative and remind them right away rather than waiting a week and them possibly forgetting. Within that week missed, you could've spoke with 2-3 people already. Got to be efficient with your approach but also not annoying and desperate

This strategy is fine, but just make sure you're phrasing it so it comes across as "you've reaffirmed my interest in the team and I'd love the chance to speak with some of your colleagues" as opposed to "you weren't helpful enough so I want to talk to somebody else" (obviously not literally, but a lot of my seniors at work say this is one of their pet peeves). Also, what I find to be pretty effective is to actually LinkedIn stalk 3-4 colleagues of whoever you're currently networking with. Ask them if they can connect you to anybody else, and if they say "i need a min to think about it", say something like "ok no worries thanks. Also, I was taking a look at people working on X team on Linkedin and found Adam, Bob, and Charlie, would you happen to know any of them?". This can help facilitate the sharing of connections.

Would someone be willing to post a sample email, as I don't want it to come off as annoying or that I am constantly pestering him/her?
