Holiday Sales

Any analysts find good clothing deals this holiday season? Post your findings here.

Anyone have reviews of the following dress shirts: Brooks Brothers, Charles Tyrwhitt, T.M.Lewin, Hawes & Curtis. Most are on sale now for about $40 each.

Also any good deals on dress slacks, suits, shoes, overcoats?

Some of the aforementioned brands (I'm particularly talking about Charles Tyrwhitt) mostly sell shirts with FRENCH CUFFS. At the same time, however, people wear business casual at the office (=no tie/jacket).

Thus, how do you wear a Charles Tyrwhitt shirt for work? A shirt with cufflinks and without a tie looks just WRONG.... you either wear a nice shirt w/cufflinks WITH A SUIT (i.e., a tie and a jacket), or just don't wear it and go for a button cuff shirt. I don't have anything against cufflinks, but combining business casual with cufflinks looks and sounds bad. THOMAS PINK, on the other hand, has a wide variety of button cuff shirts.

Any thoughts?

The problem with Charles Tyrwhitt is not the price. You can find them on sale a few times a year (like right now) and stock up 10 shirts for $500-700 (which shouldn't be a problem for your IB analyst salary). The problem is that 90% of Charles Tyrwhitt dress shirts have French cuffs and, as I said before, you're not going to do that for the office because it looks weird and wrong.

Given the supremacy of 'baby blue' in banking, you could get a few of these

or these

I'd like to have more variety, though.
