How "competitive" is the S&T Summer Analyst program?
Hi,
I was just wondering how competitive the S&T Summer analyst programs are. I realize that it really depends on the firm, the economy at that time, and etc... but how many kids are usually invited for the super-day "on average"? Also, how many kids "on average" get an offer?
Thank you very much
to be brief:
on average, superdays run from friday - sunday; each day 25~ are interviewed that means 3*25 = 75 candidates, though it could fluctuate usually, about 5-10 people will be chosen, split between S & T functions
keep in mind there can be multiple superdays
shit.... why is it so competitive? lol.. thats like 10% acceptance rate.....
What the fuck did you expect? This is to make sure we weed out the incompetent and unmotivated (aka you).
what Flake said.
OP is clueless in his posts "on average"
If you are questioning why is it so selective, I doubt you are truly fit for the industry. Also I don't see how you are a motivated person if 10% rate injects fear in you instead of excitement. I get more excited about something the harder it is to attain it.
Personally, I found the S&T analyst program to be more competitive than both IB and consulting
Low acceptance rates are deceptive. You need to discount all the idiots. Tons of kids that go to ivy league schools that have no place even being at the superday/
Just how competitive is BB S&T SA program? (Originally Posted: 07/30/2008)
I'm looking to set my short term career goals, but want to be realistic at the same time. I realize I will not be able to get in at some of the private prop shops (as they are extremely selective)
After reading through 7 months of threads on WSO, I am still confused as to how competitive getting a BB S&T SA interview is. Some say GPA/School prestige is not as important. Others say BB S&T only hire SAs from targets.
Can someone who went through the SA recruiting process elaborate?
For the record - I go to a non-target (but top 25 Business undergrad) - 3.6 GPA
