Is this misleading?

I worked in Credit Risk Reporting at a BB over the summer in New York. This is a Finance role within Credit Risk.

I sent out a few applications where I had "Summer Intern, Credit Risk" as my title in my resume. But I mention on the next line that it was in Credit Risk Reporting. I thought this was the way I was supposed to do this since I was interning in the Credit Risk division, working in Credit Risk Reporting. Now Im worried (after asking on WSO) that someone might read what I wrote and think I was pretending to be working in Risk front-office. I expected anyone reading my resume would understand that Reporting is a Finance role, but I am worried that might not be the case. I was not trying to mislead.

What is my best course of action right now? Mention at interview to make it clear?

SirTradesaLotI don't think it's so bad, if that's the division you were working in. Is it parallel to something like this?

Goldman Sachs, FICC Summer Analyst, Credit Risk Reporting

I think you misunderstood the post. He/she was brought on as part of the finance division (not risk).

As part of the finance division, they worked in reporting, specifically for the risk division.

His post makes it sound like his job function was a part of risk.

While the way you list it may be acceptable, This would most certainly not: Credit Suisse, Credit Risk Summer Analyst, Credit Risk Reporting

Instead it should be listed like this this: Credit Suisse, Finance Division Summer Analyst, Credit Risk Reporting

If you look at his previous post, his argument is that although he was in the finance division, his responsibility falls under credit risk at another bank so he should be able to say he worked in credit risk. In my mind, this is on par with saying that because his 3.0 would have been a 3.5 at stern, he should be able to list it as a 3.5 on his resume.

Sorry, I think my previous post may have been badly written. I already submitted these applications before I created that post. I am not arguing that I should be able to say I work in Credit Risk - I understand that I was working in Finance but I want to get across clearly that I was working in Credit Risk in a Finance capacity.

I have it written like this (sticking with CS as per your example):

Credit Suisse Summer Intern, Credit Risk - I worked as part of the Credit Risk Reporting team...

Basically, I assumed that someone would understand that Reporting = Finance role. If I have been misleading, it is unintentional. What is the best thing for me to do now? Contact HR?

How about: "Summer Analyst (Finance), Credit Risk" or "Summer Analyst, Credit Risk Finance"?

What should I do about the existing apps? Email HR and clarify it?

Edit: Also, does it matter that my colleagues had "Associate, Credit Risk" etc. on their business cards?

Thanks for all your help, reformed. Should I bring it up if discussing previous work experience? Dont want to look like I'm hiding anything or lying to them...
