ESL2020, way too quiet in here. What about these resources:
If we're lucky, the following pros may have something to say: alliegro.m farz tc-martin
If those topics were completely useless, don't blame me, blame my programmers...
Wow, congrats! I didn't even get an interview from Citadel (kind of surprised considering my strong Fintech background) and currently interviewing with Jane Street and some other prop trading firms for full-time trading position.
I think both are equally (?) good in terms of career prospective and pay. Equally smart and hard-working people. But I think JS has a much better culture. Direct comparisons:
Citadel: - More of a suit wearing environment (may business casual?) - Heard they will squeeze the hell out of your brainpower and throw you out a couple years later unless you're amazing at everything
Jane Street: - More of jeans and t-shirts vibe - Somewhat nerdy. Think people who did math competitions for fun
But I never worked at either, so these are just observations from websites, Glassdoor, and reseach.
Agreed. On the comp side, Citadel is better.. but you're paying for that extra comp by having less job security. Jane Street has much lower turnover.
Do you know how much pay compares for trading positions? Glassdoor seems to say they're similar but I guess it's not always correct.
Thanks a lot for the information! It will be a difficult decision. Good luck on your Jane Street interviews!
My friend who went from Goldman S&T to Citadel was let go in less than 4 months. Food for thought.
What happened?
combination of poor performance and looking like the hunchback from notre dame
