Ladies - Can't find any guys

Where the hell do you meet guys? I can't seem to stand guys who are either (yet consistently meet these men):

A) Still in college
B) Don't have a steady job.
C) Suggest that I "buy/sell a few shares" for them since I'm an investment banker. I don't do that! lol.

Yet the other guys are either gay or in a relationship. This really blows.

And match.com hasn't worked. Last guy I went on a date with was so egotistical, pro putin (yet amazingly pro-israel!), and talked about himself for an hour.

Thoughts girls?

Meeting friends of friends seems to be the best way...which leads to meeting mostly banker guys, which isn't ideal in my opinion, but most of the normal/educated guys that aren't in college anymore in this city are (unfortunately) bankers. But otherwise, I've only met guys at work (off-limits) or at bars (and who knows what lies they'll tell you about themselves to get in your pants)

monkeypoker:
What's with the banker-guy hating? Work's work... don't think the lawyers or future doctors have it much better.

Not that I hate banker guys...what I said has nothing to do with the hours they or future doctors/lawyers work. In fact, those guys are most likely to understand my ambitions/hours/lifestyle. I'd just prefer to date someone whose life doesn't revolve around finance the way mine does. Makes things more interesting if we do different things, that's all.

Finance is interesting.

PLEASE DONT CHANGE EXCEL SHORTCUTS!!!

I try to hit on banker guys, and they never know what quite to do.

joshua tree. jk. but in all seriousness, i have had friends who've met their bfs there.

Friend of friends is best. Especially if your coworkers all went to other schools (and I'd gamble to say a good chunk are from good schools), go to their parties and meet guys. Chances are they are also pretty motivated individuals.

I don't know if I trust meeting people in bars/clubs/whatever.

It's true. You want someone who understands finance and your job, but at the same time does not live it him or herself. Besides, most bankers are under a lot of stress and having a stress filled environment outside of work does not help one cool off.

...if you are a guy and you don't want to date girls in Arts/Fashion/Photography/Marketing/Sales/High School Teaching/etc...

It is amazing how this is city is "diverse" and then not really.

What kind of girls are you looking for because the city feels pretty diverse to me. If you're referring to more quantitative types, well they do exist, plenty (relative) of girls in finance/engineering/operations/accounting. Obviously there is existing bias in terms of females in those aforementioned fields but I mean, what are you even comparing it to because I don't see how anywhere else in the US is going to be more "diverse." You would find those same biases wherever you go.

pro putin and pro israel? sounds like a yobaniy shmendrick to me

I guess I should have specified given the average maturity level of this forum. While NYC can be plenty of fun, it is quite honestly not the best city for a meaningful relationship. Plus, if you are in banking and not married (I am talking ASC and above here) then it is even more difficult to find a suitable mate. Just look at the divorce rates....

Dude again, what are you talking about. I asked where you were even comparing to and you respond by attacking the general maturity level of the forum before continuing to again making general sweeping statements like "it is quite honestly not the best city for a meaningful relationship" and "more difficult to find a suitable mate". WTF does that even mean? What have you specified? Alluding to divorce rates makes no sense, national rates are terrible! You act as if divorce is something that only happens in NY.

My personal impression at least is that NY is probably one of the BEST places to find a girl, they're more intelligent, more savvy, more ambitious, more cultured and yes DIVERSE. Again, what places are you even comparing to?? What place is better than NY? I grew up in the suburbs and the girls there are a dime a dozen. I find that, and this is about people in general, such is the diversity of NY that any kind of person will find a group of friends with overlapping interests no matter how crazy you are. In terms of women, you are seriously better off in NY than anywhere else I can think of in the US. You should take advantage instead of whining...

Atropolation - try it on me and you'll never want to talk to another man again. I feel you though, most banking guys are nerds. But so are most banking girls.

HerSerendipity - Joshua Tree? Do you climb or boulder much? That place is amazing.

***If you can't find a suitable girl in NYC, it's your own fault.

Theham, you got a pic? Send to me via pm!

Markets, that made me LOL hard.

That being said, I haven't gotten laid since August. It's driving me nuts and I just can't bring myself to have a one night stand.

If it's been that long, you may want to get your sea legs back before you sleep with a guy you want a relationship with.

Atrop... so the last time you got laid was in August? Well, alright so you hit a dry spell. It happens. No biggie. Go ahead though, have a one night stand. Do it. Get it out of your system. You owe it to yourself :-)

C'mon guys, what's the longest time the average GUY goes without sex? A day? A week? A month? Pluuuueaze.

trade4size, why so pessimistic? you should wake up every day ready to sell puts! if tony robbins were a trader...

and aadpepsi, i don't know what guys you know but i'm pretty sure the average woman has sex more often than the average guy, i'd love to be proven wrong

EE you made a funny with the vobaniy schmendrick that went mostly unnoticed. I appreciated it. On another note, nothing wrong with being pro-putin, he's 5'6!! and is doing a good job steering a big and crazy country.

Joshua Tree gets one rotten apple. Down the hatch, off the wagon, moe's Caribbean...are all awful since you'll never meet anyone other than bridge and tunnel kids. Bourbon st. on upper west side and pretty much anywhere on LES, especially into the alphabets is always a great time, especially late at night. I have noticed that the drunker you are and the later you stay out, the more likely you are to meet someone interesting. Volume is a great advantage of being in new york, the density of people can't be under appreciated.

It's an exclusive club. There's even a handshake.

That being said, I haven't gotten laid since August.

What's holding you back? Are you damaged goods? I would like to know before I send you a picture.

I'm not damaged goods. Plus, it could just be me, but a lot of guys are just not that good in bed anymore. I want sex, but with a good man. It's just the waiting that's driving me nuts, but I'm too competitive that if I broke down and slept with a loser I'd kinda be disappointed.

As far as me forgetting what to do...ain't gonna happen. ;)

LOL.

This is a very funny statement.

Tis true! :) Hopefully it will all pay off. Otherwise I will be pissed! lol! hahaha.

You ex ex? So you got back together?

I'll tell you something, my future boyfriend is going to be one happy man hahahaha.

navysuit- you are right on the nose there. I suppose that it wasn't clear.

re: cops and firemen. Good to look at....for the most part....I'm not really a uber muscle guy. Actually, guys who are kind of chubby, with dark hair are best for me. Not TOO chubby.

This is just too good to pass up. With all this talk about you not having been laid since August, you would think you're shooting for the fucking stars. But instead, come to find out, you're shooting for the CHUBBERS? Things look much worse than any of us might have originally thought, Atrop.

I just don't like really skinny muscular guys!!!! I don't know why, but they freak me out. I like guys with something to grip into.

I'm not gay (not that there's anything wrong with it), but if I were into guys, I'd definitely be a Locke man myself. He's the kind of sensitive guy that can build u a crib, but can hunt a boar too...there's a metaphor for you too - plus smart, well traveled, and attractive in that wise-older-bald-professor kinda way...

desmond does have that accent going for him, but he's kinda nutty, serious mental problems, and a little hairy for my taste...

See,I don't think he has mental problems at all. He's just a little sensitive and has that ESP. But look,he's UBER dedicated to his girl. He can kill a man. He can show emotion and he knows how to use a gun. Locke is to old for me. If I had to choose another guy, it would be Richard Alpert. Ok, after that....Sawyer. Then Jack.

Oh and that whole thing about it being five months for me. Well.. not anymore ;). And that's ALL I have to say about that.
