Lateral from MMPE to Consumer GE / VC Advice?

Hi all, I'm currently halfway through my second year at a generalist MM PE fund, but wanting to transition into an earlier-stage fund focused solely on consumer. Even though I'm in a generalist program, a lot of my work so far has been in the consumer space so have decent experience in that sector and know that it's the one I'm the most excited about / want to focus on going forward. And generally, just interested in moving away from traditional buyout (my current firm is a very vanilla LBO-type investor). Has anyone else made a similar move and could provide any tips / advice on breaking in? In addition, any suggestions on funds I should look into would be very helpful (I have no geographic preference).

My list thus far (and in case helpful for others):

  • VMG
  • Alliance Consumer Growth
  • Monogram
  • Sonoma Brands
  • Forerunner Ventures
  • Imaginary Ventures
  • 14W
  • Loft Growth Partners
  • Castanea / Stride
  • KarpReilly

Thanks in advance!
