I agree. If you wanted to stay in PE I’d have a different opinion, but if your goal is to leave the industry in 2-3 years then MF will set you up better for HF recruiting
If Tiger cubs / activism is your end goal then branding becomes exponentially more important in this case. The tradeoff is you will have less time and work/life balance will suck big time but the brand name of a MF alone will get you looks at the majority of shops you'd like to recruit at.

If your goal is to transition to HF, I think a MF will likely set you up better to make that transition.
