I'm a fan of Graham for sure and yesterday he was on it.
But after watching yesterday I firmly believe there is no way in hell Kavanaugh gets confirmed now (in fact I don't even believe a vote will take place). I don't like saying that because I am a conservative but yesterday he did himself no favors. He had his good moments but overall was highly defensive and at times dismissive.
This is literally counter to everything being reported.
They are having a judiciary vote and the a senate vote Saturday. They have the votes including some red state Dems.
I watched his testimony and it was great. He deserves to be angry. And when all the alleged witnesses deny Fords story, yet Dems still paint him as a rapist, I’d be angry also.
I’m going to ask the FBI to investigate when my sister said I ate the last pastry. No witnesses but she said I did it so it has to be true.
Ford came off completely rehearsed and not genuine for the most part. He was rightly angry and should have been.
That said I DO hope he is confirmed.
Were any witnesses at the hearing other than Ford and Kavanaugh? The answer is no. Why do you think no one else was allowed to testify? The answer is likely: fear about how their statements could damage the probability for confirmation. Witnesses could also say something contra to Kavanaugh's statements, which could subject him to criminal prosecution.

Stastically, it's more likely than not that she isn't lying. His testimony was, at times, crap. So much deflecting it's not even funny. Plus, the women is a doctor, so her credibility is pretty up there. The fact that people bring up his high school stats to show he's not a rapist is pure trash. Of course he shouldn't have his career ruined over an allegation, but people reaction make it apparent why rape is still a huge issue in the us.
1) He is a SCOTUS nominee, I would say HIS credibility is up there as well.
2) This wasn't rape
3) The only other witness sent a signed letter attesting to no memory of the incident.
4) Memories change over 36 years.
5) The fact that Feinstien sat on the letter, the fact that she took a poly, the fact this was brought out at the last minute all reek of politically motivated.

Lindsey's cool with me, I just know most conservative nuts have always hated him. Always. Why he's stuck up for the far right so much all of a sudden seems strange. Not saying Kav is far right, but Graham is willing to do anything for this administration.
Trump could've honestly pulled his nomination and put the chick lady up. I haven't watched any of the hearing but it sounds like a real allegation that could be worthy of an investigation is warranted. Kavanaugh doesn't sound like he's the best pick at the moment. Personally, if Bill has to serve 3-10, I don't think Brett should be a Supreme Court Justice.
It's pretty bizarre, the whole thing. I was willing to chalk this up to worthless Dem political moves, but from what I've read, he sounds on the defense. Just in that Flake would vote to confirm, so that's interesting. Overall, the whole country is just a mess.
The only two outcomes to this debacle speak volumes to just how unprecedented the state of the US is today. Either we're nominating and voting in a sexual predator, or this is the most dishonest, party-directed sham in possibly US history.

They (you) do not give a shit about this woman b) All four people allegedly at the event claim it did not happen c) There is ZERO corroborating evidence that this occurred d) Democrats calling for an FBI investigation should see Joe Biden's comments on this from 1991 e) when it became clear that Ford's allegation was failing the credibility test, Democrats shopped a half assed story from the New Yorker that even the New York Times would not run f) After the second accuser's claims raised suspicion, Democrats doubled down with Michael Avenatti's shameless and absurd accusations.
What the Democratic Party has put Kavanaugh and the country through is an absolute sham and embarrassment. We have reached a new low in our politics and the Democrats will feel the repercussions for this in the midterms.
There is nothing wrong with quoting or paraphrasing another person's statements, especially when the statements were signed under penalty of perjury.
No one was allowed to give testimony and then be cross examined. Your comment about how all four people claim that it never happened might be true but is totally meaningless, unless those people are questioned in-person and crossed. Your statement about corroborating evidence also makes no sense because the senate did not subpoena anyone. I have voted for both republican candidates and democrat candidates.
It isn’t a trial. Witnesses aren’t called. The one guy in the room provided a letter saying he had no recollection of the facts.
Please illuminate to me what there is to investigate? If anything, the FBI would focus on Ford as she hasn’t been already vetted by them like Kav. How about her social media, classroom discussions, prior love interests, reputation in high school and college, this lie detector test and who paid for it and how was it administered.

Even if it turns out that the whole thing is a hoax (note: it isn't, the only people who act in that manner are conservatives), the way in which it has revealed Mr. Kavanaugh's complete and unconscionable unsuitability to be a SCOTUS judge would make the whole process worth it. I don't care what the allegation is or how fake it may be; a Supreme Court Justice simply cannot act the way Mr. Kavanaugh has; he has neither the temperament or impartiality needed to sit on a bench where reconciling conflicting ideologies, personalities, and interpretations of the Constitution are the everyday necessities of the job, and most especially because they're done in the pressure cooker of partisan politics.
How would you act if you were accused of being a serial gang rapist with no corroboration?

Here's what we know: 1) Ford's testimony was credible 2) Kavanaugh lied repeatedly throughout his testimony and displayed a vengeful temperament unfit to sit as an impartial judge on our highest court. We now have conservative pundits supporting his perjury as a tool to "fight back!" and preserve his nomination 3) Republicans have no interest in finding out if the allegations are true, and don't ultimately care anyway, which is why they haven't sought to interview the only eyewitness to the alleged incident, and have severely limited the scope of the new FBI investigation 4) Millions of Republican voters made a deal with the devil when they put Trump in office, and this is their payoff. Their credibility with women voters is probably lost for a generation, and this move will allow them to govern the nation from the Court for 30 years after they're voted out, as Mcconnell said at the Voters Value Summit last week.

Whether the claim is true or not, the timing is obviously political. Every poll shows Democrats holding views only Democrats support. Moderates are in line with republicans.
Democrats use allegations to ruin someone’s life. They advocate for illegals over the needs to citizens. They advocate for social policies that are societal cancer. And they are not nominating socialists.
Republicans are for US jobs, reducing taxes to support economic growth and a functioning immigration process.

The sham 3-day FBI investigation interviewed fewer people than I did when I hired an electrician last month. This changes nothing. Flake, Sasse, and the other "moderate" hacks blustered for a few days, and then fell in the party line like they always do. Personally, I think his temperament displayed in the hearing, long history of being a partisan hack, and ya know, the minor perjury he committed, should disqualify someone from holding a lifetime appointment on our highest court.
