Need dress gear
working PWM this summer at BB and really only have one proper suit, a dark navy Alfani (really dark navy, almost black, is this bad). I have a black one as well but understand that's a no-go. want a charcoal one too but I'm on a limited budget. I have square-toed slip on black dress shoes but I understand square toe is unacceptable.
So I need
a charcoal suit (is subtle pinstripes too much?)
a pair of shoes (brown? will that work with both charcoal and navy suit?)
a belt(s)
ties
shirts (I only have one white shirt, will need more of those and a couple light blues, any other colors?)
and do I need a watch? will I need one for future banking internships?
I know that's a lot of stuff but I would like to spend around $500. If that's impossible then just tell me. Any recommendations for these items? Any other advice would be appreciated, as you can see I'm clueless.

The Alfani suit is ok. I believe all Alfanis are 100% wool, and that is fine.
You want black shoes and a black belt to match. Black shoes go ok with everything but brown and khaki, and you probably won't need to wear those suits in banking.
Yeah the alfani is wool. Know any decent charcoal suits in the 2-300 range? If not I'm sure Nordstrom has something.
Nordstrom is probably a little too expensive.
Stick to Macy's, maybe Lord and Taylor if they have a sale, or go with the Men's Wearhouse.
Make sure you have leather soled shoes as well I know a lot of college kids have rubber soles and most of the time this looks cheesy. If your looking to save money go to Marshals or one of the department outlets and get blue and white shirts. It sounds strange but I buy things off of amazon.
^^^ One of my suits is off of Ebay. I bought it used. It is my cheapest suit and also my longest-lasting.
Illini, did you ever actually make a thread explaining your thrifty ways, or was that just an idea thrown around? Cause you should do it.
In all seriousness, buying suits off of Ebay is not a habit of mine. I bought one, however, and it has turned into the best suit I've ever bought. I am not pushing this too hard on college students, but it is fun to be a caricature of thrift every once in a while.
Most of my shopping gets done at the Men's Wearhouse.
JC Penney is having a sale for all of March, $100 for all Stafford suits. They aren't Brooks Brothers, but if you need cheap suits, there you go.

For $500 you will be slumming but you should be able to get the following:
1) Spend $50-$100 on shoes (get black, cap-toe or split, make sure they have leather soles as rubber looks cheap). Examples below.

2) Get 1 solid charcoal suit and a good tailor. Make sure the suit is double or single vent. My preference is flat front pants and no cuff on the pants. Go to a cheap to moderate department store or men's suit store.
3) Get 5 $30 dress shirts, white, blue and a few striped/checked (nothing crazy) 4) Get 5 $20 ties (blues, reds, pinks - depending on preference) 5) Buy 1 belt for $20
Most wardrobes would cost at least 2-3 times that for better quality but you can get away with this for an internship. Just make sure everything fits and you will look presentable.
A watch is unnecessary unless you already own one.
