PE in Miami

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know of any reputable firms in Miami? Can you speak to their:

1. Pay
2. Culture
3. Focus (i.e. middle market? tech?)
4. Reputation in comparison to NYC firms?

Thanks!

There are a handful of middle market PE shops in and around the Miami area. Couple off the top of my head:

H.I.G. - Sweatshop, average pay, have LBO funds and growth equity funds, strong reputation in their sector Brockway Moran - No longer making new platform investments, but is a reputable name in MM PE.

Miami is good place in the Southeast for MM PE, CompBanker has included a few good ones, but here are some additional ones.

Harren Equity Boyne Capital TriVest ComVest Sun Capital

Obviously, I incorporated some of the outer parts of Metro Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, but your options around Brickell are limited.

Also, just a heads up use the search function in Company Research.

Play the long game - give back, help out, mentor - just don't ever forget where you came from. #Bootstrapped

SunCap, SunCap, HIG and related funds, SunCap. I'm sure there are a number of other small groups as well.

HIG (depending on fund) tends to do tougher MM or Low MM deals. I remember when SunCap used to do a deal a week but then the world stopped in 2008. Still have a ton of decent portfolio names but the folks I knew (junior to mid-level) back then are all gone.

Define "tougher".
