PE Recruiting GPA Question
Hey guys,
Just want to gauge importance of GPA in comparison to work experience, with respect to PE Associate recruiting.
Coming from an ivy target here (non-HYPW), with 3.6/3.7 (should end with roughly a 3.7 — not math/Econ) and 2 summers at BB (GS/MS) and coming back to the same BB full time.
Worried how GPA will effect my chances given how early recruiting is so I’m assuming there’s less emphasis on work experience and more on credentials. Aiming for MF/UMM firms
You might get filtered out of the list for MFs. Also depends on which group you're going into full time. At 3.5+ it's probably going to come down to school, bank (you're good here), and group.

Sorry for hijacking - would be awesome if someone could share his/ her experiences on London PE landscape and GPA importance, specifically when coming from a strong BB and group.
Literally will not matter at all. GPA not important after you have a more relevant body of experience from which to judge
What substantial body of work can you have 3-4 months on the job?
This guy has no idea what he is talking about. Yes, GPA matters, particularly as the on-cycle timeline has been pushed up. Again, I don’t think it will kill your chances except for a handful of firms.

Your GPA will not be an autofilter for any names. Background is good enough and interviews are somewhat random - nobody gets put in front of 100% of the names they want, unless you're Eleni Henkel's daughter or something
Wouldnt worry on the things you cant change anyways. I recruited with similar GPA (landed at MF) and nobody ever asked me about it
