PE recruiting out of college

Hi All -

I'm interested in what PE recruiting is like coming out of college. It's an option I'm certainly considering and I'd love to know if there are any steps I can take in advance to better prepare myself. I worked in equity research at a big AM sophomore summer and currently summering at an EB. I go to a top target school for IB, but PE firms have historically not really recruited at my school. Any recommendations with regards to technical practice (modeling, etc) that I can work on, the networking process for PE out of college, and any other miscellaneous advice would be appreciated!

Thanks
