I don’t know where you’re experiencing this but I’ve never met anyone even close to what you’re describing. I don’t know if this is a troll dude that’s how generic it sounds, sounds like the actors in movies honestly.

Dear... this is a people business and not just a measure of how hard you can work. Unfortunate that you feel this way and people should not be condescending, but its also important to be cognizant of the background of the people you are working with. At my BB, most analysts / associates were from very well-to-do families. Not saying you need to not be yourself, but also no need to ostracize yourself and try to win some game that no one else is playing. You will need solid recommendations / references down the line if you hope to move to PE or up the ladder.

I used to be like you, i blamed my failure or lack of success on people who had it better, until i took a look inside and focused on improving myself . I learned a lot and realized most of this oppression is self imposed in my mind. You should do the same, good luck Although I dont blame people hating on you for the way you talk you sound like a moron

Real talk: if you're from a disadvantaged background, you can bitch all you want about arbitrary selection criteria up to the point where you're offered the job. If you are never offered the job, I guess you can also just be bitter about it until you're dead.

HOWEVER. If you do land an IB job, that's the time for you to leave whatever prestige baggage you have behind and just do the work. You're no longer in any different boat than anyone else. Yes, maybe you'll be excluded from recruiting events because you didn't go to a school your group recruits from, and maybe you'll miss out on some lunches / dinners for alumni, but suck it up and do the work.

At the end of it all, nobody that matters cares where you went to school or your economic background once you're on the desk. Make your own future and stop being bogged down by your past.

you just gotta ignore it, and do you lol. had a group of friends who called me a loser when they used to go out on Fridays and i didn't because i was trying to get into IB, just don't mind them lol, just do you and you will happier
