I’m at a low-tier BB (DB/UBS) and I’m wondering the same. I heard kids at EBs and top tier BBs got an email from SG Partners this week, but unfortunately no one in my group received the email. I’m assuming you’re on the same boat?
Unless you're in an obscure group, if you're at a BB in an IB group, you'll get emailed by all the main recruiters, so I wouldn't stress about it too much.
Then I would say it depends. If you're at a brand name fund, which has had regular analysts / associates coming out of UG and moving after 2-3 years, then you are still fine and they will reach out. If not, then it can't hurt to reach out yourself. PM me if you need any further thoughts on this.
What if you're not in an IBD group? Does it make sense to reach out to HH?
Depends. The IB group 2nd years generally give the HHs the email addresses of the 1st years in their groups. So if you're in a non IB group where you don't really have a 2nd year (i.e. most of the capital markets teams which might have 1 analyst each), then it might make sense to reach out to them.
Do not reach out to recruiters yourself. I can guarantee you that the recruiters have already reached out to second year analysts in your group to get all of the first year analyst email addresses. Every recruiter reached out to me (I am a second year) for this information and I happily forwarded along the first year analysts’ email addresses.
Judging by how this point last year all the major HHs would have not only reached out to analysts, but already have met them, I'm pretty confident in saying it's delayed at least for now.

same, wanna shoot my shot. unsure if it’s a waiting game or if we gotta put the resume out there. just afraid of that looking needy/desperate
Also at a DB/UBS bank. Didn't receive an email and no one else that I know of in my group did

Curious about this as well if starting as an analyst on the buyside (non-MF) - should I be reaching out to HHs?

Just curious what other HH besides SG have started reaching out?
At a top BB and none others so far. Most people I've spoken to think recruiting will be pushed back with firms still WFH
Heard from a friend at a target that Amity has been reaching out. Safe to assume this is school specific and not firm?
At a top BB and still haven’t heard anything. Anyone else? Should we be reaching out by now? Or is the timeline delayed because of the pandemic?
