Curious about this as well if starting as an analyst on the buyside (non-MF) - should I be reaching out to HHs?

"laka" What if you're not in an IBD group? Does it make sense to reach out to HH?

Depends. The IB group 2nd years generally give the HHs the email addresses of the 1st years in their groups. So if you're in a non IB group where you don't really have a 2nd year (i.e. most of the capital markets teams which might have 1 analyst each), then it might make sense to reach out to them.

Judging by how this point last year all the major HHs would have not only reached out to analysts, but already have met them, I'm pretty confident in saying it's delayed at least for now.
