Sector(s) With the Least M&A Activity

Hi all,

I'm currently preparing for some upcoming interviews and was thinking about which sectors are likely to see elevated M&A activity, and which ones will have less M&A activity in the near future.

It's not so difficult to answer the first question, however, I'm struggling to come up with any examples of sectors that will have less M&A activity in the years to come. Could anyone of you guys provide some intelligence on this?

Thanks a lot.

Don't know much about P&U. Within infrastructure, it's pretty much asset sales as well, usually between operating partners/PEs themselves sometimes between governments and PEs. That's brownfield. If it's greenfield then it's more of a construction project where the infra bankers/consultants do an operating model, which can be extremely (and maybe unnecessarily) complex.
