Series 79 timeline
Hi, I just finished my S63 and now starting to study for the S79. I have until the end of June to complete the Series 79 while working full-time. Is this a reasonable amount of time to complete the material and pass by? How long would you recommend studying for this exam? I have taken some finance classes before and am using Knopman Marks. Thanks!
I took the 79 while working, spent 2-3 hours a day for about a week and half. Do practice questions while working. Do at least a thousand of them.
thanks for your comment. How much time did you spend reading the book? I'm a slow reader and even slower when I have to take notes and the Knopman book is 400+ pages...
this is purely anecdotal but I also am a slow reader and spent way too long reading the book only for my practice exam to jump 6%. Once I watched the video reviews my practice exams have jumped 20-30%. This is for the SIE though, just realized I found the videos more helpful than the book.
I completely agree. The SIE videos were so much more helpful in piecing all the info together for me. I spent way too long reading the SIE book as well. I think I'm going to only skim the 79 book chapter by chapter and then immediately after reading 1 chapter, watch the associated video. Otherwise, its just an info dump and I can't remember anything
I never read the book. Forget the book. Watch videos on each topic and then just do nothing but questions. Write down every question you get wrong and understand why you got it wrong. Do that over and over
