Special Sits HFs

Anybody have any insight into the best and most reputable Special Sits HFs/PE shops. If not, just a list of SS funds. Are most just a part of the major distressed players? A few Google searches haven't yielded much on my end. Also curious to the difference in structure/strategy of Special Sits HF vs Special Sits PE funds. Thanks!

Davidson Kempner, Oaktree, Centerbridge, Silver Point, Sculptor (formerly Och-Ziff), BX/KKR/Apollo/Sixth Street/Bain Capital Credit all have special sits desks, Whitebox, Goldman SSG (now integrated into Merchant Banking I think), Castlelake, Ares, Golden Gate (not sure how big the platform is tbh) to name a few more. I work in RX and have worked with/seen/heard of these guys on deals.
