Stock Screeners
I was wondering if there were any free "stock screening" programs available on the internet for personal use. I have been using the Yahoo screener for some time, but now I am looking for something more powerful, if it exists.
Specifically, I would like to track the share performance of companies relative to the average age of their board members. I know this may sound arcane, but I'm looking for a quick way to extrapolate data based of some ideas I have.
That is interesting. I actually do some quantification of crap that you just mentioned.
I don't know about any free ones, but my firm has me a member of several online sites. one that I use a lot is www.insiderscore.com
I don't know if your going to be able to find this information or not, but good luck, post up an answer if you find one.
thanks for the response. I will post a follow-up if i find some good stuff.
if you have access to one, the bloomberg terminal has by far the best screener i have ever seen.
Best I've used too.
I always just make my own with a python script (not that hard).
The stock screeners out there just don't screen for everything I want.
I highly recommend learning to build your own. Just learn python and regular expressions.
I am in the process of learning python. I am about a quarter of the way thru MITs opencourseware, and am anxiously waiting until I can freely code what I want. Do you have a specific database that you are using for your scripts, or just the web? Also, I see that .pn is desirable for jobs on the street - which versions do they typically run? I'm working with 3.2, but nearly every reference I see is for 2.7.
It doesn't have an option to sort by board members' ages, but FinViz has a nice free screener:

Does anyone know of a site or program that can screen equities by several constraints? For example, by PE, yield, EPS, beta, etc.
This should do it http://www.finviz.com

Microcap/Small Cap Stock Screening (Originally Posted: 04/30/2012)
I was wondering what tools I could use online to find a database of every microcap and smallcap stock companies that are based in a very specific regional area. (Eg. London, Ontario)
capitalIQ if you can get your hands on them or any of bloomberg/factset
Anything I can get without having to pay? I am finding it very hard to screen companies.
Stock Screener with Option Pricing (Originally Posted: 01/31/2012)
Is there a good stock screener that has all the typical company and stock criteria as well as option pricing?
I'm just looking for your average stock screener that will include option prices that I can download into excel. I realize that the different strike prices of options probably make it more difficult to get into excel, but someone has to have come up with something by now.
Any recommendations are welcome.
Thanks
