TMT continues to win mandates
DCM
FIG / TMT
TMT and Industrials are the two best groups by far. Can't say the exact reasons why but TMT is better off in the end given it is a newer group that is growing really fast.
Industrials at UBS doesn't come close to GS, MS, JPM, Barclays, Citi, BAML, RBC and the like.
UBS does well in ECM/DCM, can't really compete in M&A since around 2012 or 2013(never really recovered from 07 either).
Very insightful intern. RBC industrials sucks
Eh, still better than UBS industrials as of 2020
As others have said, TMT has been killing it recently
Just tech or also M&T?
Mostly telco
Really strong in Private Wealth Management
Heard some say their FIG (among others) is decent, would love to see other opinions
I can concur. FIG and TMT are their strongest groups.
What about their M&A?
All I know is that their London office is wicked. Went their with my University not sure if all banks are like that but damn it was like a mall.
bump
I believe their LevFin group is the top group by revenue in the bank.
Industrials is
what about their LatAm IB group?
Also wanted to know about this, are you a diverse intern or upcoming analyst?
Hows their healthcare group? Just curious
Recently hired a couple MDs into the group
had multiple friends leave different UBS coverage groups early after ~1 year because of lack of deal flow.
It's getting a lot better. UBS basically got rid of a bunch of underperforming coverage groups last year, so they're focusing on 4-5 and trying to win mandates. I heard Industrials, TMT are very solid. FIG has had some great exits as well
Sponsors/LevFin has been historically strongest and would say it's still top. TMT and industrials are solid. They've really been trying to grow consumer as well, brought in some new MDs and have been on some big deals recently (Pepsi acquisition of Pioneer Foods, Natura acquisition of Avon).
Heathcare seems to do a lot of equities work, not much M&A. RELL also not very strong. FIG is decent but not what it used to be.
Natura covered out of LatAm - not relevant. Pepsi? S African coverage of this deal. UBS is a joke
isn't UBS and top an oxymoron?
Ok intern lol
ok UBS analyst lol
