Using initials on resume instead of first name
Hi everyone-- What is the community's stance on using initials instead of a first name to hide gender and possibly ethnicity. I have an ethnic first name which I go by, but a (somewhat) ambiguous last name (think Confederate general or famous martial artist). Would it be ridiculous to use my initials before my last name on my resume to disguise my ethnicity/gender? Everything else on my resume is gender neutral including my club sport which is co-ed. Thanks for the insight.
Use your first name. Also everyone will assume your asian with the last name Lee regardless.
You beat me to it. If his last name is spelled "Li," that's an even bigger giveaway.
