We Shall Overcome...Non-Target Backed By The Streets?
The douchey argument that is none other than, non-target vs. target, has caused me to reflect and ultimately become enlightened on the subject. Follow me. Keep in mind that I do not subscribe to any side of this terribly redundant argument.
A non-target kid comes from the hood and has a strong network in the streets. A target kid comes from nantucket and has a network like that show Gossip Girl. No matter what the target kid does, he will never be able to keep his ear to the streets because all he knows is Caviar and Country Clubs...this naturally leads any logical human being to realize that the target kid is blind to the devastating threat of potential kidnap-for-ransom (thereby losing all of his hard earned net worth and eventually going back to zero). Follow my logic ladies and gentleman...
The non-target kid has his ear to the streets being that he grew up with the dope dealers and hoodrats. Beneath the surface, you may think the non-target kid brings doo doo to the table in comparison to the parted-haired finance geek at the target school library...but it is not so. The non-target kid has the potential to build the same network as the target kid, through his own efforts (breaking into high finance) as well as through switching it up by attending a target for grad school. This thereby gives the non-target kid the best of both worlds. Essentially, the non-target kid has a higher probability of keeping his wealth, assuming he attains the same professional position as the target kid, because he will not be kidnapped for ransom due to his vast network in the streets. Not only that, but this same non-target kid has a built-in fall back career that the target kid doesn't have access to, because his ear to the streets (non-target network) provides slanging and dealing career prospects that are tax-free and potentially more lucrative than any shitty corporate job the target kid has access to. This, combined with the fact that this non-target kid has added the target network to his rolodex (which affords him the same networking and professional prospects as the target kid, which could be the result of personal networking efforts and attaining an IBD job through as much, etc), means that the non-target kid has the highest expected career value. The target kid's networking advantages are easily duplicated (as has been explained), but the non-target kid's vast network with the streets has a much greater sustained competitive advantage due to its difficulty of duplication and substitution. The target kid will eventually get jacked of his riches, especially if he stays in NYC. But the non-target kid will not only avoid getting jacked because he is friends with the jackers, but he will also have added tax deductible career opportunities that the target doesn't have (slanging and supplying).
I hope this analysis proves that anyone with any real ambition or analytical skill will pursue the non-target career track. It affords the highest expected value in terms of earning ability, assuming this non-target kid breaks through the initial barrier of landing a job on Wall Street.
Therefore, to finally conclude such a distastefully redundant topic...it is official, Non-target > Target. Target kids have simply been bamboozled by the man.
For those who want cliffs: The streets add more value to a non-target than The Street adds to the target. Ya dig.
Dude just because you go to a non target does not imply you lived in a ghetto. Jesus dude, what the hell do you think banking is? Last time I checked I don't need "hood skillz" to get a deal done.
Utter clown thread.
Anthony, you don't seem to understand the nature of this thread.
Well yes, I think I do understand this. It is mocking non target kids. Am I correct? If so it is a poor mock since it is obviously a gross exaggeration of the differences between a non target kid and a target school kid. If I am wrong please correct me.
this thread is so lehman brothers circa 2006
No Anthony, it is mocking the entire argument...it is mocking anyone who subscribes to either polarized "side" of such a stupid ass argument which is largely based on inflated generalizations.
Oh ok, cool, I was wrong. Apologies.
No worries man. But I appreciate your comments, so please appreciate mine. Deal?
When I was at HSBC I knew an RM that would always say "I appreciate what you are saying" whenever people asked him for something and he thought it was total bullshit haha
Cool man, post away.
i completely agree ... almost all non-targets have more street smarts and skills than target kids which are predominantly the same and lack a vibrant personality due to a closed life
You don't have kidnapping insurance?
Pussy
It's called the streets dude.
Yeah, the street network has awarded me a lot. I brought my crew to my interview, and let's just say it didn't take any longer than a minute to get my offer from that poindexter MD. With my advanced sign-on bonus, I was able to provide expansion capital to the street operation before I graduated. My crew has expanded to Purdue, Ball State, Butler, and Rose-Hulman. 'Bout to go to war w/ the Notre Dame crew (B.Kelly Kids from Cinci) and the Ohio State fags (Young Bucks) before training in July.
the response was a joke, dog my b
Where do semi-targets fit in all this?
I'm so moved by the OP you should tell your story to GANG LAND.
Only thing this proves is you know how to write a long ass paragraph. You must be a real "street kid".
Hey, I have a question for ya m8! How is Father's Day in DAH hOOd? Must be pure chaos!
I heard real street kids don't say models and bottles they say bitchez and 40z
