  3. Get a higher position (either at my current company or elsewhere)

Thanks for responding CRE. Congratulations on the wedding! The book part is truly difficult because it requires grit month after month. I had decided to read 40 books in 2020; I finished 7. Although I did pick up at least 5-6 other books that were never finished.

I hope you accomplish each line item in 2020. Cheers!

Man, someone just threw me a SB for this today and it's rough to read. Thanks to COVID-19:

  1. No (postponed)
  2. No (too much uncertainty)
  3. No (likewise - everything got paused)
  4. No (quarantine meant tons of cooking and wine. I'll make some progress on this, but not 50)
  5. Yes, actually.

1/5 is pretty awful.

Among other things that are more important, I'm especially HYPED about this one:

In just TWO WEEKS I submit my TWO WEEK NOTICE to this job I loathe. I'm almost there and I get giddy thinking about it.

More importantly: I'm getting married and am especially HYPED for that. That's going to be a blast.

One of my closest friends (who I met on this site) had this brilliant idea. We shared notes via iPhones and put our goals in. We're going to hold each other accountable for them. 2020 shall be good.

Congratulations on both events! How long did it take you to plan the wedding for x number of people? Can imagine that it is stressful with finance hours. Did you get a professional wedding organiser or is that unnecessary?

Thank you!

We're actually doing a very basic courthouse wedding, so that is pretty easy to plan. After I switch careers and we save up more, then we will plan for a big reception. I'll let you know how challenging that is when I cross that bridge!

They’re unrelated. I can get EU citizenship through one of my parents so it’s just something I want to get out of the way, and it could help in the future, but not really any time soon.
