Which city welcome immigrant as Investment banker the most??
Any city would accept the most non-local ppl as investment banker? Like US, UK may accept the non-local who studied in there and stay. How’s the successful rate and any experience share? Any specific department will be easier? Fee free to discuss

Hard question. I think the major cities are generally accepting of immigrants. If I had to pick the most accepting, it would be NYC first. I see and work with so many international people in NYC. There are probably many other cities that have diversity too, like cities in California, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta. If you live in any of the major cities of the US, you can't go wrong.
Agree that all of the major cities in the US are very accepting of internationals. The main obstacle for internationals is getting an IB job that sponsors visas.
Isn’t The sponsor necessary for an immigrant to stay and work? or there are any alternatives for us to stay
The new post brexit visa system comming in to the UK on January 1st 2021 will make it very easy for highly skilled workers who speak English and who have a job offer to live and work in the UK. But you will need to have a job offer.
This guy’s right. But, in the nicest way possible OP, you’ll probably need to improve your English more, if your post has anything to go by. If you were going for a SWE or Quant role which is less presentation-based it might be fine, but if you’re aiming for a role which is all about presentation at the end of the day, you may struggle to get offers.
I'd guess London is probably the best if you went to university in the U.K.
From what I understand, it is significantly easier to get a Work Visa if you previously held a Student Visa and the British government is making it progressively more easy, i.e. if you graduate in 2021, you'll be given a two year temporary work visa. The only thing is you've got to earn above a certain amount of money to be offered a work visa (its 33k I believe), so most finance jobs are well above that.
The U.S. Visa system is more of a lottery if I understand correctly.
Whenever I apply for the job in UK, there’s a question ask ‘Do u need visa sponsor?’ If I say no need, Do u mean that I could apply for the visa by my self? As I found that there are a list of qualified sponsor contain thousands of company. If I choose not to ask for their sponsorship, I can pay by myself instead? Or necessarily the qualified sponsor sponsor me and act as a guarantor? Thanks mate!!
No, you can't apply or pay for your own visa like that. Only certain companies are permitted by the government to provide work visas. That being said, holiday internships don't require a work visa if you've got a student visa, and for a lot of firms, needing a work visa after graduation (but not needed for the internship) is very normal and fine.
Any insights into Singapore and Canada? Particularly curious about what it's like for people who didn't study there but want to move there with a few years of US work experience.
Unless you're coming from the states, good luck breaking into Canadian IB - there's hundreds of over-qualified Canadians applying for each job so they're pretty spoiled for choice. not to mention Canada turnover is significantly lower so most needs are met through OCR.
What about continuing IB in Canada after finishing an IB analyst stint in the US?
