Working with FA Friend

I started working with a friend who is a broker/FA at a 'chopshop' and has 10M under management, makes 500k a year from it after splitting with his partner who manages the trading side. I get him leads and any opened accounts we split 33/33/33, me him and partner, so far 8months in I make next to zero but I see many people in the office make 1Mill+ a year from this and my guys are starting to open accounts. Is it worth sticking with him or to pursue another role with higher starting salary?
