Irvine Company
Anyone have some intel on working at Irvine Company? Culture, comp, etc etc etc? Can't find much on this site... surprising given the size of the company.

Comp is strong. Culture is bleh, at the whims of the founder.
Can second this from a few peers who went there out of my MBA program. They got really solid base pay ($155k base in 2019, when average dev base pay was closer to $120k out of my program) but they did not like the culture. Two out of the three I knew left after two years, one just moved on, another started a real estate data/tech company.
Thanks. Can you speak more about the culture? What didn't they like?
I heard two big complaints, 1) they were focused a lot on commercial office development in Orange County, which just got decimated during Covid, and 2) apparently the office just wasn't very friendly, people kept to themselves and didn't really create a fun environment to work with your colleagues.
Think cash comp there is solid compared to other large dev shops. Visited office one. Environment felt very sterile
