FT Interviews
How difficult are technicals interviews for FT compared to SA? Easier, the same, harder? For FT ur still in school with no experience so are the interviews as technical as a lateral interview?

Going thru the same process. bump
Just went through a FT process at a MM and the technicals were extremely light. I’m assuming if you already went through a SA stint, they know you most likely were grilled to secure that internship and know the basic technicals at that point. I thought there would be tricker technicals as well, but I got asked to walk through the typical sell-side deal process and CIMs way more than I got asked to walk through a DCF or LBO. Also, if you have any deal experience be ready to explain every part of your involvement with it. Of course you should know technicals front and back anyways for safe measure.
thats really interesting. was ur SA at a reputable firm? just wondering if they give people with good SA internships a lighter interview and grill people with random SA internships that prolly didn't have a rigorous process
To be fair it wasn't like their were no technicals, just not intricate ones. Standard "what affects the IRR of an LBO" type of stuff. It was for an industry group so it was more focused on that industry's KPIs and what not. My internship was at a fairly reputable MM bank that most people on here know, although it's def not a heavy hitting mm.
