Summer Athletic Fitting Polos
Hey guys, curious what kind of athletic fitting polos everyone is wearing. I’ve tried State and Liberty and they’re a bit too tight. Someone told me Peter Millar is a decent brand.
Any recommendations?

Collars & Co. - I have about 12 of their shirts. Collar always pops, great with blazers untucked just air dry them don't put in dryer.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, if you're looking for athletic-fitting polos for summer and found State and Liberty too tight, Peter Millar could indeed be a solid option. Their polos are known for being comfortable and stylish, with a good balance of fit and breathability. Additionally, you might want to explore brands like Mizzen and Main, which are often praised for their stretch fabrics and athletic cuts, making them suitable for a range of body types.
Another suggestion is to check out Outlier, as they have a reputation for innovative fabrics and designs that cater to active individuals. While they focus more on performance wear, their attention to fit and comfort might align with what you're seeking.

This is super lame, but sometimes you need to get the sleeves shortened at a tailor and then you’ll feel like the polos fit way better. If you’re looking for an athletic fit, that is.
IMO, Holderness and Bourne has the best athletic fitting polos. I played baseball in college and have a pretty athletic frame, so sometimes have a pretty hard time time finding stuff that fits well. H&B definitely fits the best for my frame
I have a few polos from Peter Millar and find that they have a bit more boxy / less flattering of a fit for me
I swam in college so have a pretty athletic frame with wider shoulders. The absolutely best polo I have found is the Lululemon ShowZero (or zero show or something like that). Try one on, you won’t regret it. They make you look jacked without being so tight as to make you look goofy, and are also super soft with some tech to avoid sweat stains as a plus.
Thanks for all the tips, guys! There was a "Crown Cut" at Peter Millar that fit without the extra box, I think, which was great. Got a few of them for some summer time meetings, etc.
46 Chest, 31 Waist, and the L fit pretty decently. There might be a tad of extra fabric at the waist, but not bad and easy to tuck.
I just bought a few from collars and co - their merino knit are awesome. I highly recommend those - the others I'll give you a recommendation in a year.. I want to see how they hold up. Optimistic but dubious.
Bonobos has a few good options as well - I prefer their knit polos to anything else, the standard cotton ones I found shrank like crazy.
