pwm vs start my own company
so i'm a sophomore and i got offer for a pwm internship but i don't know if i should accept it. the internship is part time and non paid.
from what i understand pwm is mostly about cold calling people, which i think has nothing to do with trading/real investing.
I am trying to get trading internship at BB or BP. unfortunately I did not obtain any trading internship as a sophomore.
Option A:
take class in the summer to increase my gpa
AND study for the gmat
AND start a tech company or some nonprofit stuff. I have a descent idea and willing to spend 2000 usd to develop it.
100 percent chance gpa will be above 3.5
Option B:
take the PWM internship
study the gmat
50 percent chance gpa will be above 3.5
which option is best?
thanks alot! and sorry about my grammer:)

Why are you studying for the
Why are you studying for the GMAT as a sophomore? Just take it easy, take the PWM iship (pretty typical for a BB aspiring kid after sophomore year) get good grades, and get laid/party. I would work for at least a few years, unless you have a really good, not decent, idea. You'll need the experience/capital for any start up. 2000 usd ain't gonna cut it.
C) Take the internship and
C) Take the internship and take a class or two to get your grades up. Do not bother with the GMAT as a sophmore, it would be a waste of time and it is only good for 5 years, so unless you are absolutely sure you will be getting your MBA two years out of school it is a waste.
Start a tech company or some non-profit stuff? Have something very clear in mind before you invest your time and money. It doesn't sound like you really have a clue, save your money to buy yourself some beer during the school year, after all you will not be making any money during your internship. If you still think your idea is great, you should have plenty of time to develop it during the school year.
A high GPA and good
A high GPA and good internships will help you more than anything else you have listed. If you can work on your startup in between that would be even better.
thanks for the
thanks for the response...
i'm studying for the gmat because I may get a master in finance/computational finance, so i need to study the gmat either way.
I made 15K trading so i can invest in more than 2k into my idea if i have to.
is unpaid PWM considered a good internship? alot of students get those. don't you think having my own company/non-profit is more impressive than some internship?
more comments please ;)

You made $15k trading!!!??
You made $15k trading!!!?? You should drop out of school, start the road show and raise capital for your hedge fund. I would do the internship, take zero classes, work on the start-up (even though it sounds like you have no clue) and enjoy my summer chatting with hot babes online.

I think I'd side more with Chicago85; take the internship and the classes to boost the grades. If you were going into something like consulting, a start-up might be interesting. For trading, I feel like it would be less beneficial. Grades matter.
