Top B-School Resume Books

Hey guys,

I'm looking for some good resume books. I already have some from a few years ago for Tuck, Darden, and Berkeley. I can post them if anyone here wants, but in the meantime Im looking for some other schools, or updated ones for the ones i already have.

thanks a lot!

very interested, could you please post?

Toiysam - I don't have any but would be willing to negotiate for the Wharton and if you get a hold of the HBS... PM me - lets discuss

I have Berkeley's from 2008, I'm not sure how to post it here though...

Ok guys here is all I got. I would Highly appreciate it if someone can return the favor and post some of the other school.
Sorry man but that was all I had as well, thanks for posting though, been looking for Tuck's since they took it off their site.

Here's IMD's, if anyone's interested in it. http://www.scribd.com/doc/36759188/IMD-class

This is all cool to look at, but can I ask what the point it?

Well, some use it to get resume formats or whatever but I use it to compare myself with those admitted, see if I need to beef up my resume some more or if it's good enough for the school.

Oh ok, good, Whats funny is I have looked at a lot of these books and always see some odd ball resume formatting and things like that.

Princeton MSF has some impressive resumes for sure.

Yeah I know, I really don't get why some would want to get formats from there anyway.

Ok ladies.. I just found the mother-lode. 145 resume Wharton 2010 book (non real estate).

Someone PLEASE post the HBS/CBS/Standford etc...

Or message me for a trade.

mmmm 145 resume book? it should be more like 800 per year (1st and 2nd year)

and the other ones people posted are just for PE... arent there any full CV books?

Princeton MSF has a solid book, but Frankly a little underwhelmed by the kids with names I can easily pronounce; especially considering that the majority of them have been out of undergrad for a fair number of years.

Just my 2 cents, had some high expectations.

This dick is responsible for all this mess.

For all the people who say no one person is responsible for the financial crisis, its a multitude of institutions and enablers... I say to you NO.

This d-bag's career consisted of undermining the US and Global financial markets.

http://www.bankersball.com/pub/wp-content/uploads/openresume15.pdf

First he worked at a REIT, over-paying for Real Estate.

Then he worked at North Fork bank originating mortgages to unqualified borrowers.

Then he worked at DB as a mortgage loan analyst (read: finnancial anarchist)

Then this fucker worked at Morgan Stanley securitizing mortgage pools.

Not only is his resume a who's who of financial meltdown contributors, but he's the fucking jack of all trades and MVP. This isnt a resume, its an indictment. Lets jail this fucker and move on with the so-called financial crisis. I bet he's got an Jumbo on townhouse in downtown Charlotte.

i am a first year at a top 20 school and i like these resumes a lot. my guess is that the students trimmed down some of the unnecessary extras before they submitted them for the PE book, since I notice that many of the resumes will exclusively list the PE/VC club instead of a plethora of clubs.

at my school we have to select one of four templates to use. this ensures consistency, which makes it easy for recruiters to find certain information on everyone's resume. my resume lists "skills" (such as Leadership, Financial Modeling, etc) since I am a career switcher.

the resume is incredibly important to getting a first round interview. literally everything has to be PERFECT. especially for banking, where you'll be rejected because of the stupidest inconsistency such as using the date format 5/09 in one area and 5-09 somewhere else.

I haven't gone through b-school apps nor will in the short term but I think for H/W/S it will be a waste of money. Put it this way, for lower ranked schools it might be advantageous to have a nice resume format but you can get that advice from any alumni that attended b-school.

For H/W/S if your credentials/back story is overwhelmingly impressive enough your resume only has to barely "nice" for them to consider you. A $400 book isn't going to change that.

Got 300+ resume book for Wharton.

Are you looking for format or career paths? If you are looking for career paths, LinkedIn used to be a fine way to do so, but I think they've changed that -- can anyone tell us how to get behind their "premier" wall? But Poets & Quants has done a great, (although flawed) job on feeder companies and schools.

If you want the resume format, you just look at my link below and you can download a template. Also, here's a blog post on it http://masteradmissions.com/wp/2011/11/22/on-a-great-one-page-resume/

thanks

thanks Betsy and others on this thread.

I am not looking for format/career paths but looking for the substance and quality of the resumes at these schools.

To be more specific: if someone wants to make $50 by sending me a Kellogg or Columbia MBA resume book, then let me know if you have access to any of them!

Thanks!

I have the 2009 HBS resume book. My friend at HBS was really livid when stressing that this shouldn't get out to the public/internet, because of privacy issues, etc... Dunno if I should redact names and such when trading**?
