Interview
The interview Includes a 1st round interview with a recruiter. This round is very basic and is to get a quick sense of how you might fit in on the job & if others should give their time to interview. The recruiter will ask your experience with things on the job description, which will be as hard as this round gets. The next round is a one on one call with the hiring manager (who you will report to). They will ask you questions directly about Python, or other material experiences that will relate to our team. If you have specific financial experience, now is when to bring it out. After this, you will have a super day that consists of the same type of interview, only this will be with 6 other team members ( 3 interviews with 2 people interviewing you at a time). Some of those members will ask more financial questions, others will give you data related topics. The best candidates don't lie and pretend to know something they don't. There will likely be a python test here to see if you know anything as it applies there. Lastly, you'll meet with an SVP or MD to get final approval. The MD or SVP will be seeing how much a fit you are to the team culture. This is not going to be a technical round.

Interview Questions
they were asking me more questions on data science, like how to run a random forrest and tree and baeysian criteria used in statistics. lots of excel questions too. but overall mainly very basic behavioral questions. like what do you do when a customer says this; and what do you do when a customer says that. it was very up front and a little brash. but i am glad i went through the process. i know some of my friends also went through the process and they didn't make it. i have had good contacts with the entire company.

Was asked how I would evaluate luggage company during phone screen. “Super day” was all behavioral to see is I would be a good fit for the company. This included standard walk me through your resume, how I would communicate to a group of people I wasn’t familiar with, how I decided my major, tell me what you know about Oaktree, if I would like to live in Los Angeles, what do I do in my free time, who are the company’s competitors. Everybody was friendly and really trying to get to know me versus assessing my technical skills.

Contacted by a recruiter. Had phone screen with HR, writing and excel assessments and interview with an analyst on the phone, followed by going into the office and meeting separately with 4 people on the team.
Interview Questions
given a subject and then asked how I would present it in 5 powerpoint slides. Also was asked my thought process for delivering data, I asked questions and was given no actual answers, then after I did my best the interviewer stated the most important thing to do is to ask "why?" even though I had been asking why and she continued to say "all I'm saying is, 'deliver this data.'" Was also asked what I would suggest for a conservative investor who had fixed income covered but wanted exposure to HF's.

Interview
The process consisted of hour long phone calls with members of the team ranging form VP to Senior VPs. The interviews focused mostly on deals I'd worked on and included some technical questions focused on debt, accounting and M&A math (my focus is M&A). A lot of the phone call also focused on whether you'd invest in the company in your deal or not. After the phone rounds, the team selected a number of candidates to perform a modeling case study at home. This involved a valuation of a public company and full bottoms up flexibility, a DCF, Comps, Precedents and debt schedule impacts. If you executed well enough, the team invited their finalists in for an in-person case study presentation. This final segment included studying reports and financials for 3 hours and deciding where you'd invest in the company's capital structure. Once you were done, the team would come in and you'd have a chance to present your case while answering questions regarding scenarios/outcomes that were possible to see if you could back your assessment up.
Interview Questions
It was most difficult to prep for the final in-person interview because I'd never had to decide where to invest in the capital structure of a company. The reality is that it's a very solid interview process because it makes you think on the spot and provides insight into your mind as an investor. Leading up to that part, I'd suggest owning everything on the deals you've worked on and be prepped for basic finance math as well as some debt-specific stats or definitions such as calculating Yield to Maturity and what it represents.
