Analyst YOY Compensation

Hey all,

Interested in Wellington and Fidelity for post-MBA analyst roles, but have concerns over comp getting stagnant. I know if you hit PM/MD then comp jumps up greatly, but what is the year-over-year increase as an analyst? I've heard starting analyst roles at these firms are ~400k; how does it scale yearly? Also, is there any comp difference between fixed income and equity groups?

For sure man, it differs too much by fund but think of it as banking comp +\-, likely a discount for the first 5 years and there’s usually a big comp jump (or decrease) at the 5 year and 8 year mark depending on how your fund measure individual contribution. Again it’s a discount to private markets or even banking until you’re like 8+ years on the job.

Do you know what does comp looks like then 8 years into the job if you’re adding value? And what is split between base and bonus? Interested in the space. Thanks.
