Are front office roles still competitive once in industry?

Working as an Investment analyst for a boutique fund think ($2bn) that has relatively great performence. Currently in my second year.Thinking of making the switch - comp is okay where I am, but it could be better elsewhere. How do I move? Been applying here and there over the past few weeks but there hasn't been any response from anywhere. I thought this kind of competitiveness is reserved for grads and not experienced people?

Depends on where you are applying and how you are applying.

People that have done networking, referrals and headhunters get the first pass over website applications.

If you are applying to BX then maybe you are competing with that kid that did an internship at Bain, one at GS and now works at KKR.

You will get responses at some point don't worry too much about it, opportunities will come your way.
