I will soon be starting an internship at an asset manager in the product management team. I am reaching out to see if anyone here has advice on career prospects after this or if this division will be a niche group and exclude me from other opportunities.
My goal is to be a Research/Investment Analyst/Associate --> Portfolio Manager later on in my career, obviously with years of hard work. I will be studying and plan to take SIE exam this summer and will start studying CFA Level 1 next academic year.
Will being in this role provide the skills necessary for me to achieve my goal? Should i take this summer learn as much as I can and look elsewhere for full time?
