BlackRock Fixed Income Research 2026

Fortunate to have received an offer from BlackRock in the Credit Research division and I’m considering the offer. Despite the offer, I feel like I know very little about the firm.

Could someone help me understand the following better?

- What is the culture like in NY specifically?
- How does comp compare to banking and other AMs?
- How much weight does the brand name carry outside of AM and outside of finance?
- How strong is BlackRock in FI? Are any pockets particularly strong?
- Is it possible to pivot from research to portfolio management?

Why would you take the offer? Is it the BLK name or is a FI AM role that appealing? I’m just curious on the rationale here (I’m likely to take the offer)
