BlackRock's Scientifically Driven Active Equities

I was looking at BlackRock's PMG page and they have a business unit called "The Scientifically Driven Active Equities." The description is as follows:

"relies on a quantitative approach to conducting research, portfolio management and trading, in order to maximize returns and minimize costs. The Index group manages portfolios benchmarked against a variety of domestic and international indices, using the best portfolio construction techniques and driving profit through finding efficiencies and enhancing capabilities. The Securities Lending business provides clients with additional revenues through lending securities in a risk aware manner."

Does anyone know what this is exactly and where it fits into everything? Any contribution would be greatly appreciated

spb10123It is a bunch of quants in San Francisco who are in research and who manage a hedge fund called 32 Capital.

I have no idea where you got that from but it's just a sub group of PMG with offices worldwide that uses quant strategies. Not a separate hedge fund at all.

You are right

Is it possible to get into the group after undergrad, or are they looking for people with more edu/exp?
