Are you interested in GWM? Do you want to do something different when you graduate? Do you have other offers? More information is needed before accurate advice can be given. PWM/GWM tends to get a bad rap on this board, but if it is what you want to do then BAML is a decent place to get some experience. If not than avoid it. All depends on what your other options are.

The bad things I have heard about GWM at ML is that there is a lot of busy work and cold calling, and that you don't learn much. However, the offer I have gotten seems like it is not like that at all (I hope), but after reading some bad reviews of internships at Merrill GWM I figured I'd ask around on this forum.

I am interested in GWM, and am considering it as a career path. I'm also considering management consulting.

How can I get some insight on what the work and pay is like in GWM? I read somewhere else on this forum that the pay in GWM is less than the pay in PWM... but what's the difference? What about business school afterward - do the top schools look down on GWMers at all?

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, you're a bit vague with your situation so cant say much. GWM has two groups (AAM and GWIM) and under GWIM there are other groups (some groups are purely support, some are more on the front lines). So which group are you in and is this an undergraduate or MBA internship? Lastly where will you be working?
