I will be finishing my internship as an equity analyst at a mutual fund (>$200 bn in management). I am confused as to what career path to choose. I am very interested in investing but should I focus on PE as the asset management industry is in a downward spiral? I believe that private markets have more inefficiencies and provide more opportunities to earn a healthy return. From a long-term perspective what field shall I choose? How do monetary benefits stack up?
