Can someone list Goldman Sachs' AM Desks?

I have an interview coming up and they want me to rank the desks in order or preference. I'm not really sure which desks there are. Are they fundamental equities, QIS, Fixed Income, Central Funding, AIMS Hedge Fund Strategies, AIMS Global Manager Strategies, AIMS Private Equity Group, Real Estate Investment Group, Liberty Harbor, GSIP, Global Portfolio Solutions, AIMS Client Portfolio Solutions, and AIMS Risk Management & Analytics. Is Alternative Investments broken up or is it a whole desk by itself?

I'm not even sure which desks I want to put. Which ones will give me the broadest exposure or best experience?

Damm, jealous bro that you have an interview with GSAM.

Depends on what you're interested in. GSIP and Liberty Harbor are the most selective and "prestigious". The former is GS' internal long-short equity hedge fund while the latter is GS' credit hedge fund. QIS is quant strategies so unless you're a strong programmer it probably wouldn't make sense. I think fundamental equities is just their regular equity trading arm for institutional clients. Global portfolio solutions is more macro: it creates customized portfolios for clients and is thus a "big picture" role. AIMS is just manager research, but it's broken down by type of strategies that you would be looking into.

GSAM is an awesome place to cut your teeth, and it will help your resume tremendously. Best of luck.
