CB Credit Analyst to Fixed Income Analyst?
Once I graduate with my Masters in Econ, I'd really like to land a job as a fixed income analyst. The problem is, there's no guarantee that I'll be able to land that job. So I'm trying to come up with other careers, that would allow me the opportunity to transition to fixed income analysis down the road. Would working in a commercial bank as a credit analyst do the trick? Seems like the skillset would transfer to fixed income quite nicely, since you're analyzing financial statements, estimating creditworthiness, etc. If I land a credit analyst job, I figure I could start doing the CFA and try moving to fixed income after 2-3 years. Would this be a viable plan?
P.S. If you're aware of other jobs that would allow me to transition to fixed income analyst, please don't hesitate to mention them.
Any word on your progress? lmao
Relax, you still used training wheels when this article was posted.
I'm genuinely curious, and you're probably the same age as me so nice try
