Citi Private Bank

Sorry, posting here because no other relevant forum. Just curious on thoughts for Citi’s PB. Have a close family friend who’s a MD there servicing UHNW clients, wants me to come over. I’m currently in Corp banking coverage with some interest in private banking, but would love some thoughts

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Citi's Private Bank is a well-regarded institution that services UHNW (Ultra High Net Worth) clients. If you have an interest in private banking, this could be a great opportunity for you.

In private banking, you'll be focusing on new business acquisition and maintaining existing client relationships. You'll ensure that each client’s needs are met across many spectrums such as banking, lending, trust and estate planning.

However, it's important to note that the transition from corporate banking to private banking will involve a shift in responsibilities and skill sets. You'll need to be comfortable with building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, and you may also need to develop a deeper understanding of personal finance and wealth management strategies.

Remember, it's always important to consider your long-term career goals and personal interests when making such decisions. If you enjoy building relationships and have an interest in wealth management, this could be a great move for you.
